Mercedes A-Class
A-Class is one of the first true mini-monospace motor cars with a superb ratio of interior room and exterior dimensions. Initially, the press praised the latest arrival of the German automaker known for its luxury motor cars of rather generous size. Until the day a Scandinavian journalist caused it to overturn while performing a stability test called "the moose". But the Germans reacted immediately: they equipped Class A with standard ESP - something new in the small motor car segment - and reinforced the vehicle's suspension. An ingenious communication campaign not only allowed them to save face but also to enhance the image of a carmaker worthy of trust. The motor car is especially appealing to women: they account for 40% of the total market.
