The construction and decoration of the stands is underway!
Four weeks before the opening of the Geneva International Motor Show the automobile world is preparing for one of its most important events where 250 exhibitors will be presenting their latest offerings. In addition, some 65 press conferences will take place during the two Press Days that precede the opening to the public. At the moment the stands are being built and exceptional artistic and technical skills are being employed in their construction and decoration. The Motor Show will open to the public from March 6-16, 2014.
All of the available space in the 7 exhibition halls at Palexpo, a total of 110,000 square metres, will be occupied by 250 exhibitors. They include all the important manufacturers in the world, many top level automobile preparation specialists and prestigious automobile designers. One of the halls is exclusively dedicated to Swiss suppliers of accessories and equipment to the automobile sector.
Beginning in mid-February, to implement the transformation from empty halls into the Geneva International Motor Show, multitudes of decorators, carpenters, painters, mechanics, electricians, carpet layers, etc., using more than a half million cubic metres of merchandise, will be putting forward their best efforts to build and decorate their stands in order to optimize the presentation of the exhibitors’ products and impress the visitors. A logistical organization responsible for allocating and managing access to the halls for each exhibitor will enable the functioning of this delicate operation with optimum efficiency.
From next week, you can follow the construction of the stands directly online at the Motor Show website, where each year the realisation and rivalry for ingenuity and beauty to optimise the presentations of the latest offerings from the automobile world can be marvelled at in real time.
« The constructors have submitted projects for their stands which will be exceptional. I can confirm that this year the Motor Show will be magnificent! » the General Manger, André Hefti has enthused. « This is the first phase in creating a world of dreams and light destined to best present the latest developments in technology, economy, ecology, urban usage, design, motor sport, etc. in the automobile world.»
The exhibitors have already planned for some 65 press conferences to present their world or European premiers. The 84th Geneva International Motor Show will be open to the public from March 6-16, 2014.
