Range Rover Autobiography Ultimate Edition

Land Rover is set to unveil its most luxurious--and most expensive--Range Rover ever at next month’s 2011 Geneva Motor Show, the new Range Rover Autobiography Ultimate Edition.

The Autobiography line of SUVs from Land Rover are essentially more upscale versions of the already luxurious off-roaders, usually built in a limited run and decked out with unique features not available on any other model. The latest Range Rover Autobiography Ultimate Edition will be no different, with only 500 examples destined to be built for worldwide consumption.

The vehicle can be specified with either a 4.4-liter turbodiesel V-8 or a 5.0-liter supercharged V-8 depending on the market, the latter being the option for the U.S.
The interior of the vehicle has been revamped, with the rear bench being replaced by individual bucket seats and a new center console. There’s also plenty of aluminum, wood and leather trim. Designers have also chosen to install Apple iPads into the back of the driver’s and front passenger’s headrests. Other special items include the yacht-style teak floor in the trunk, Kalahari wood veneers on the door tops and custom 20 inch wheels.

First sales are scheduled to start later in the year. Interestingly, this is likely to be the last special edition based on the current generation Range Rover SUV. A completely redesigned model is expected to be launched late next year, spy shots of which you can see by clicking here.

The 2011 Geneva Motor Show kicks off on March 1. In the meantime, stay up-to-date with our full coverage of the event by clicking here.
