What: Fifth ITU, ISO and IEC Fully Networked Car workshop
When: 3-4 March 2010
Where: Geneva Motor Show, PALEXPO, Geneva
Why: In-vehicle systems that can guide you to available parking slots in busy town centres, warn of danger ahead and improve traffic flow are on the cusp of implementation. The Fully Networked Car is the only event of its kind that brings together the ICT and automotive industries to hasten the inclusion of ground-breaking computer and communication technologies in tomorrow’s automobiles.
Held at one of the world’s most important motor shows, the Fully Networked Car workshop provides a chance to hear about the technology developments that will soon be reshaping our driving experience. The two-day programme features compelling presentations from experts and executives from the car industry, ICT community, governments, research and development institutes, academia, as well as a chance to chat with them about their vision and future strategies.
A special executive session will feature high level representatives from the US Department of Transportation, the European Commission, National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (US), BMW, Orange and OKI. Other sessions will look at the latest developments in technology and network requirements for electric vehicles; vehicle and road safety; vehicle-to-vehicle, vehicle-to-infrastructure, vehicle-to-home, vehicle-to-power-grid technologies; ICTs and climate change, and in-vehicle technologies.
Who: The workshop will attract media, ICT and auto industry professionals, students and engineers
